From an engine repair business with 2 empoyees the company developed to a mid-size machine production factory with nowadays 52 employees.

Within this 30 years history we built up a wide knowledge on gas engines, gas engine controls and CHP technology in common. Already with the introduction of Gas engine CHP technology at the beginning of the eighties, we started doing maintenance and repair works on CHP systems of most diverse manufacturers.

Since 1991 we produce the SCHMITT ENERTEC CHP units. Design, production, sales and installation is done at two facilities in Mayen, Germany. 

SCHMITT ENERTEC´s engineers developed a complete gas engine series based on Mercedes Benz Diesel engines. Our R+D department has its own test bench for engines and complete CHP units.

Important for our clients is: We are not only selling CHP. We design it, build it, and service it.

Our components and systems find customers in many countries of the world. 

Thanks to our local distributors, in 2004 we achieved an export ratio on our sales of 69%.

Connected to SCHMITT ENERTEC is since 1990 also the AT-MOT generalüberholte Motoren GmbH who is mainly working for DaimlerChrysler AG as a subcontractor for repair of crankshafts, cylinder blocks and turbochargers.
