SCHMITT ENERTEC Natural Gas Gen-Sets secure the power supply at a crude oil pipeline - 01.06.2010

As part of a large order by GE Jenbacher, SCHMITT ENRERTEC technicians commissioned the first of altogether 32 natural gas generator made by SCHMITT in the northwest of India. Cairn India built a 590 km long, 24-Inch-Pipeline for the transport of crude oil from Mangala Barmer in the Federal State Rajasthan to the coast of the Federal State Gujarat.

An adjacent 8-Inch-Natural Gas Pipeline was established parallel to the crude oil pipeline. Up to 175.000 barrels oil per day are to be produced and transported on the fields in Rajasthan. Along the pipeline 32 Power Stations, each of 1 MW electrical power rating were installed by GE Jenbacher.

The engines are supplied with natural gas from the neighbouring Natural Gas pipeline and are primarily used to heat the oil keeping the fluidity of the wax containing crude oil. As back-up and for the start of the main engines SCHMITT ENERTEC supplied Natural Gas generator sets with 39 kW electric power to each station.

The units were supplied as compact units with sound and weather proof enclosure and are particularly appropriate for the rough conditions with up to 45 °C ambient temperature.

SCHMITT ENERTEC goes " Down Under " - 01.05.2010

After only 6-weeks of production period, in the middle of May the first SCHMITT ENERTEC Natural Gas CHP was shipped to Australia.

The unit will soon supply a swimming- and leisure-center in Ashburton, a suburb of Melbourne, with power and heat.

The CHP was planned and sold by our local distributor "Total Energy Solutions " as part of a comprehensive energy savings concept.

The CHP of the type FMB-285-GSMK with 8 cylinder turbocharged lean burn engine is particularly equipped for the Australian market with the appropriate grid paralleling and protection devices.

Wood gas BHKW for India - 01.05.2010

Due to the strongly rising prices for natural gas on the Indian subcontinent, SCHMITT ENERTEC engines are increasingly operated also with renewable energy.

First two of altogether six the wood gas gen-sets were put into operation. The electrical power rating is 250 kW per unit and they supply a pharmaceutical production plant with power and heat.

The engines are particularly appropriate for the lean wood-gas. In particular the air/fuel mixing and the turbocharging is adapted. The plant was inaugurated in a Hindu ceremony by the local Guru.
